115.17 What you seek is also seeking you

Season #1

What you seek is also seeking you

The desert stretched endlessly, a sea of golden silence under a pitiless sun. Each dune whispered of trials endured and mirages believed. And there, stumbling forward, came a traveler — parched, weary, lost.

His lips cracked with thirst. His thoughts echoed with despair. For days, he had searched for a well spoken of only in legend — a place where water flowed not just to quench the body, but to remember the soul. But all he saw now was sand, shimmering heat, and the mocking curve of more dunes.

“I cannot go on,” he muttered, falling to his knees. His hands trembled as they pressed into the hot ground. “I have nothing left to give.”

He dropped his pack, too heavy to carry, and let himself collapse beside a thorny bush offering the faintest shade. There, between breaths and the trembling edge of tears, he whispered a prayer—not to any god, but to the silent sky.

“I sought you,” he said, voice rasping, “but you were not there. Not in the stars. Not in the wind. Not in the silence.”

The wind shifted.

He closed his eyes, expecting the end. But something cool touched his cheek. A breeze—gentle, moist, impossible. He opened his eyes.

A stone circle lay just a few steps away. The rim of an old well, half-buried by time and sand. He blinked, disbelieving. Crawling forward, he peered in.

Water.

Clear, deep, shimmering with the sky above.

As he drank, tears mingled with the well’s gift. A voice rose from the echoing dark within — soft, feminine, and ageless.

“Why did you stop here?”

“I could go no farther,” he said.

“Exactly,” the voice replied. “And so I came.”

He looked around. The desert hadn’t changed. But he had.

“You mean… all this time, the well was following me?”

The voice smiled in silence.

Then another figure approached — cloaked in white, eyes steady as eternity. The New Noble stood beside him, placing a hand over the well’s stones.

“You were never just seeking water,” the New Noble said. “You were seeking remembering. And sometimes, when you surrender, what you’ve longed for finds you.”

The traveler nodded, still kneeling.

And in that moment — not quenched but awakened — he understood:

The well was never far.
Only waiting.
For him to stop seeking…
And start receiving.
